Christmas in Cornwall

Christmas is a magical time for a holiday in Cornwall. As well as windswept beaches and wild walks, there are plenty of Christmas festivals and attractions to visit in Cornwall throughout December.

One of the most famous is the Mousehole Lights with its floating display of lights in the harbour and throughout the streets of this West Cornwall village. A little closer to home, Padstow harbour lights up its own festive illuminations for visitors . Padstow also has an annual Christmas Festival of seasonal fun and cooking demonstrations from celebrity chefs such as Rick Stein and Nathan Outlaw.

Many of Cornwall’s attractions have special Christmas events on throughout the festive season. Trebah Gardens has Santa Trails with a walk to Sata’s Grotto through a winter woodland wonderland. The Eden Project also gets festive with all sorts of events and activities for children and adults, including ice skating.

If you plan to stay in St Mawgan for Christmas or New Year, many of the local restaurants and hotels will be open for Christmas lunch and festive parties. And our local pub The Falcon is always lively and fun at Christmas.
